Wellness approaches in fitness trainers’ practice: current state and future prospects
The article explores the integration of wellness components into the professional activities of fitness trainers and the training of specialists in health and recreational motor activity. Considering current global trends that emphasize a holistic approach to human health, the authors substantiate the need to update educational programs in the field of physical culture and sports. The aim of the study was to analyze how fitness trainers apply key wellness components in their practice: physical health, fitness, nutrition, appearance, sleep quality, and psychological well-being. The research was based on a survey of 103 fitness trainers from Kyiv fitness clubs. The results demonstrated a high level of integration of physical, nutritional, and appearance-related components of wellness, while sleep and psychological wellness were addressed less consistently. Most respondents agreed that offering additional wellness-related services improves the quality of training and increases the value of services. The study’s findings confirm the relevance of developing educational programs based on a comprehensive wellness model. Future research should focus on analyzing the readiness of specialists to implement this model in educational and professional contexts.
