Rehabilitation of postural disorders in students of the university by means of swimming

The article considers that posture disorders among university students are a significant socio-hygienic problem that requires increased attention in view of its impact on overall health and quality of life. Purpose: to consider the effectiveness of swimming in the correction of various types of posture disorders common among university students. Research methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, study and synthesis of leading pedagogical experience, pedagogical observation. Results. The growing prevalence of spinal deformities in students actualises the search for effective methods of their correction and prevention. In this regard, swimming is recognised as an effective means of correction and prevention of deformities of the musculoskeletal system. The biomechanical mechanisms of the positive effect of swimming on the musculoskeletal system in the conditions of unloading the spine of students are considered. A review of modern domestic and foreign scientific sources investigating the effectiveness of swimming in the presence of kyphosis, upper cross posture syndrome and flat feet is carried out. Recommendations on the choice of style and intensity of training depending on the type of posture disorder are given. It is proved that the effectiveness of swimming for rehabilitation and correction of posture largely depends on the individual type of disorder, as well as on the correct selection of swimming technique and regularity of training. Conclusions. Swimming is a promising tool for the correction of various postural disorders in university students due to its unique properties, such as buoyancy and water resistance. Swimming has been shown to be effective for kyphosis, upper crossed posture syndrome and flat feet, as well as for improving overall posture and postural balance. To achieve optimal results, it is necessary to take into account the type of postural disorder, choose appropriate swimming styles, follow the correct technique and maintain regular training. It is often recommended to combine swimming with other methods of correction, such as physical therapy.
