Readiness of future physical education teachers for the implementation of the key competence "entrepreneurship and financial literacy"

The relevance of determining the readiness of future physical education teachers to implement the key competence «entrepreneurship and financial literacy» in the educational process of the New Ukrainian School is due to intensive transformational processes being implemented within the framework of educational reform, which involves systemic and comprehensive changes in all components of the educational process and the implementation of a competency-based approach. Despite the fact that the issue of implementing a competency-based approach in the physical education of schoolchildren attracts significant attention from scholars, information regarding the readiness of future teachers to implement the «entrepreneurship and financial literacy» competence in physical education lessons within the New Ukrainian School is presented fragmentarily. The purpose of the study was to determine the readiness of future physical education teachers to implement the key competence «entrepreneurship and financial literacy» in the educational process of the New Ukrainian School. Research methods included theoretical analysis and generalization of data from specialized scientific and methodological literature, sociological research methods, and methods of mathematical statistics. The results of the study revealed a high level of understanding of the essence of «entrepreneurship and financial literacy» competence by future physical education teachers and their awareness of general competencies, however, gaps were identified in the practical readiness of future physical education teachers to implement this competence. For the effective formation of «entrepreneurship and financial literacy» competence, future physical education teachers are recommended to deepen their understanding of its essence (including initiative, responsibility, and organizational aspects), apply practice-oriented pedagogical approaches (development of leadership qualities, formation of responsibility and team interaction, elements of financial literacy, delegation of authority, time management), use interactive methods, and implement comprehensive assessment that includes project and integrated tasks.
