RECREATION AND TOURISM IN STUDENTS' LEISURE
Anotation. This article explores the role of physical recreation as an essential component of students’ leisure in the context of contemporary socio-cultural conditions. The concept of "physical recreation" is clarified as a type of active leisure that occurs outside the framework of professional, academic, scientific, or competitive sports activities. It is directed toward the comprehensive development of the individual, the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health, as well as the reduction of stress levels and the enhancement of overall well-being. The research analyzes students' attitudes toward recreational physical activity, focusing on motivational factors, perceived barriers, and the personal and social benefits associated with participation. It is shown that students recognize the value of recreation not only for health improvement but also for social interaction, emotional balance, and recovery from academic workloads. The article outlines the main forms of physical recreation preferred by youth, including mass sports, active leisure activities, recreational and wellness programs, tourism, and participation in health-oriented and sports-related events. These forms are considered the most accessible and effective for the student population due to their low cost, flexibility, and the opportunity to combine physical activity with enjoyment. Speci al attention is paid to the determinants that increase the effectiveness of recreational activities. These include adequate infrastructure, students’ awareness of available opportunities, institutional support, and personal motivation. The importance of creating favorable conditions for engaging students in recreational practices is emphasized, particularly through the development of university programs that integrate physical activity into daily student life. The study highlights that among the various types of physical culture, physical recreation is the most applicable and beneficial for university students. It contributes to health promotion, personal development, and the formation of healthy lifestyle habits, while also enhancing the quality of leisure and the overall educational experience. The findings may serve as a foundation for further development of recreational strategies and wellness programs in higher education institutions, aimed at improving the physical, psychological, and social well-being of student youth.
