Salud bucal y calidad de vida en niños de una comunidad rural indígena de Oaxaca: resultados de un estudio piloto

This research analyzes the impact of oral health and quality of life on preschool children from a rural indigenous community in Oaxaca through a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. With a sample of 30 parents of children with dental caries, the "Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS)" was used. This scale assesses four factors: psychological, sociological, self-image, and family. The participants were predominantly married women aged 31 to 40, with a high school education, middle-class socioeconomic status, and children aged 4 to 6. The factors with the greatest impact were psychological and family factors, with means of 8.2 and 7.8, respectively. Sociological and self-image factors should not be overlooked and should be treated with equal importance
