Intervenciones de enfermería para la prevención, diagnóstico y tratamiento de ulceras por presión en pacientes adultos mayores: revisión sistemática

Introduction: Pressure ulcers affect patients with reduced mobility, deteriorating their quality of life and increasing the burden of care. Its prevention, diagnosis and interdisciplinary management are essential. Objective: To analyze the published scientific evidence on nursing interventions aimed at the prevention, detection, and management of these injuries in older adults, through an existing systematic review. Methodology: Based on PRISMA, articles from 2019-2024 were included, extracted from Scielo, Medline, Dialnet and Google Scholar, with MESH/DECS descriptors and Boolean operators. Results: Of 465 initial articles, 260 duplicates and 115 were eliminated due to exclusion criteria; 90 were evaluated in full text, 70 were discarded, leaving 20 for analysis. They propose strategies such as mobilization, support surfaces, nutrition and skin care. Barriers persist such as low compliance with protoco ls and little training. Conclusion: The approach requires a multidisciplinary approach, continuing education, and rigorous application of evidence-based protocols.
