SOSIALISASI KONDISI PERAIRAN TELUK AMBON DALAM MENDUKUNG KEGIATAN BUDIDAYA BAGI PEMBUDIDAYA DI DESA POKA

The city of Ambon, located on the coastal region , is surrounded by sea waters and includes the village of Poka. The Poka Village area is located in the Inner Ambon Bay. As a result, many people use the waters of this bay for marine aquaculture businesses. Water is the medium of life for cultivated organisms, so water conditions must be maintained and managed properly to ensure they are suitable for biota life. A common problem in coastal waters is high levels of pollution, which can lead to a decline in water quality. The purpose of community service activities is to provide information about water quality conditions so that there is a change in the mindset and actions of the farming community, thereby increasing production yields. The event will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIT. Held at the Poka Village Hall, there were 49 participants involved. After presenting the material, a discussion process was conducted in the form of a focus group discussion (FGD). The result of the activity was that the team introduced a technology to the water quality control system, namely a Water Quality Monitoring System (WQMS) device. The use of this tool is expected to be very helpful in monitoring water quality for the community. There are several parameters that are observed as information shared with the public, including temperature, salinity, pH, DO, and nitrite. Measurements of water quality parameters in Inner Ambon Bay show that water quality is ideal for aquaculture activities. This serves as a source of scientific information for the community to assist in the maintenance and production of cultivated biota. Conclusion: Through this activity, the community gained a better understanding and knowledge of the water quality parameters that are measured regularly for aquaculture.
