The article presents the main characteristics of energy consumption in product value chains, considers energy saving opportunities, and explains the place and role of incentive measures in implementing these opportunities. The increasing role of stimulating the use of renewable and alternative energy sources in environmental protection is demonstrated. The ways and directions of stimulating energy saving in product value chains, at their individual stages and links are determined. Opinions are expressed regarding various options for choosing sources of financing incentive measures at the current stage of the transition to green energy. The state of development of research, information, consulting, educational and other components of stimulating energy saving measures is characterized. The impact of economic activity intensification on energy efficiency and energy intensity of products is characterized, and the features of the energy saving incentive system in the context of innovative development are shown.
