DEVELOPING MATHEMATICAL LANGUAGE FOR VIETNAMESE GRADE 3 STUDENTS THROUGH MATH TEACHING
This paper presents research findings on the development of mathematical language for Grade 3 students in Vietnam through Mathematics teaching. We propose several measures to foster mathematical language development among students in Mathematics lessons. These include: utilizing images, diagrams, and visual models in Grade 3 Mathematics instruction to support the development of mathematical language; cultivating skills in transitioning between mathematical language and natural language (Vietnamese) to enhance mathematical language competence; and designing and applying exercises and real-life situations in Grade 3 Mathematics teaching to promote the development of mathematical language.
