Application of mathematical modeling in stormwater network planning: Settlements North of the Sebeš Canal

The paper presents the results of hydraulic modeling of the stormwater drainage system for the catchment area North of the Sebeš Canal (Borča, Ovča, Zbeg settlement). The model was developed using the MIKE+ software package, applying synthetic design storms generated by the Chicago Design Storm method. Several alternative solutions were analyzed, and the optimal configuration of collectors and pumping stations was selected using the AHP multi-criteria analysis method. The obtained model results enabled precise system dimensioning and optimization. The paper confirms the importance of mathematical modeling in modern urban planning and flood protection, while also emphasizing other key factors necessary for the successful implementation of the proposed technical solution.
