Понятие отрасли избирательного права

This article examines the role of electoral law in regulating public relations, its position among other branches of Russian law and legislation. The subject, method and other features of selective sectoral legal regulation are determined. A contextual understanding of citizens' electoral rights and electoral legal relations is provided. The provisions of the legal doctrine and national legislation are analyzed. It is noted that the general part of electoral law is f controversial and underdeveloped. The definitions of "electoral process", "electoral system" and "electoral law", which have a semantically similar names, but different legal contents and purposes, are distinguished. The basic legal terminology of the general part of electoral law is formulated. The definition of the concept of the branch of electoral law as a distinct branch of Russian law and legislation is provided.
