Bezoar gástrico en adolescente
A bezoar is concretion of indigestible material in the gastrointestinal tract, most commonlyin the stomach, which can cause intestinal obstruction. We report the case of a 15-year-oldadolescent presenting with left hypochondrial pain, greenish vomiting and a palpable mass.Initial management included antibiotics, antiemetics, and oral intake restriction; however, thepatient progressed to abdominal distension and fecal vomiting. Computed tomographyrevealed intestinal obstruction, prompting an exploratory laparotomy, during which twogastric trichobezoars (17 x 13 cm and 17 x 9 cm) were found and surgically removed.
