Throughput Maximization in Multi-User PAS Via Joint Optimization for TDMA

This paper proposes a throughput maximization framework for multi-user Pinching antenna systems (PAS) operating in Time Division Multiple Address (TDMA) downlink scenarios. By exploiting the unique dual-phase-shift channel characteristics (combining waveguide propagation phase shift and free-space path effects), we develop a joint optimization strategy for antenna positioning and quantity selection. The key innovation leverages waveguide-induced phase shifts to enable coherent signal superposition without traditional phase shifters. Simulation results demonstrate a higher gain over conventional movable antenna systems and reveal the fundamental trade-off where higher transmit power reduces the optimal number of antennas.
