Wireless Propagation Simulation Interacting with Remote Vehicle Control Simulator in Real-Time

Next-generation mobile networks such as Beyond 5G and 6 G have the potential to realize mission-critical connected services such as remote vehicle control. We previously proposed a real-time simulator in which OMNeT++, CARLA, and SUMO were connected and exchanged information to evaluate mission-critical services. A drawback of our current simulator is that the wireless propagation loss caused by the surrounding buildings in the simulator cannot be considered, mainly in terms of calculation time; thus, the performance of the services cannot be properly evaluated in the scenes where the services are provided. In this paper, we describe the wireless propagation simulation interacting with the wireless simulator in real-time, and evaluate its effectiveness through wireless image transmission for a remote vehicle control service.
