Special Section on Emerging Technologies of Complex Communication Sciences and Multimedia Functions
This special section presents recent advances in both the scientific and engineering aspects of complex systems, communication systems, and their integration into real-world applications. It aims to incorporate the fundamental principles and methodologies of complex communication sciences into practical solutions. The topics covered in this issue were also featured in the IEICE Technical Conference on Complex Communication Sciences (CCS) and the Korea-Japan Joint Workshop on Complex Communication Sciences (KJCCS/JKCCS) held between 2024 and 2025.Fourteen papers have been accepted for publication in this special section. These papers focus on diverse ranges of topics, including reservoir computing, edge AI computing, convolutional neural networks, wireless spiking neural networks, image denoising and colorization, prompt engineering, graph theory, stability analysis for interrupted circuits, and noncontact heart rate measurement. Each contribution is authored by active researchers in the field, presenting cutting-edge findings that represent some of the most exciting areas of research in CCS.We believe that the contributions in this section will inspire readers and provide foundation for future developments in CCS.
