Defecto óseo masivo en fémur pediátrico
The lengthening and correction of bone deformities has undergone multiple modifications;the decision to treat is based on the massive bone defect secondary to a post-traumatic boneinfection. We present the case of a 7-year-old female patient, with a multifragmentaryfracture of the middle third of the left femur. It is planned at first time removal ofosteosynthesis material, taking cultures, macerates, taking biopsy, placement of cementspacer with antibiotic. In a second time, the first masquelet time is performed and anautologous bone graft of iliac crest and fixative for bone lengthening, membrane transportand graft compression are placed. In the third period, removal of the monorail andosteosynthesis of the left femur with plaque is planned, obtaining satisfactory results andadequate bone consolidation.
