Synthesis of simple ethers based on β-dihydroxy ferrocene derivatives

This paper demonstrates the feasibility of synthesizing simple ethers based on β-dihydroxy ferrocene derivatives. 1-Ferrocenyl-1,3-butanediol was used as the starting compound. The structures of the obtained compounds were confirmed by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, as well as elemental analysis. The properties of the synthesized ferrocene derivatives were investigated.
