Structural Components of Environmental Responsibility in University Students
The state policy for environmental development of the Russian Federation through 2030 postulates the need to raise the national ecological awareness. However, its level remains low, which means an urgent need to develop indicators and mechanisms for shaping ecological culture and environmental responsibility in the young generation. As an integrated personality trait, environmental responsibility of university students is a complex phenomenon. In this article, it is represented as a set of components developed through a systematic approach to the organization of education and upbringing of an environmentally oriented personality. Education is considered as the main lever for the shaping environmental responsibility. The complex structure of environmental responsibility includes content, operational-procedural, emotional-axiological, and evaluative-resultant components. They are important for education as they can be used to build a model of environmental culture in the conditions of modern society. By developing these components, university students obtain some experience of interaction with nature and learn eco-humanistic principles.
