THE PUNITIVE SYSTEM OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE IN THE SUPPRESSION OF PEASANT PROTESTS: EVIDENCE FROM THE SAMARA GOVERNORATE

Thу article analyzes the activities of law enforcement agencies in the Samara Governorate during the peasant uprising in Kinel-Cherkassy, identifying the challenges faced by corresponding officials. Particular attention is given to the functions of the gendarmerie and the police in responding to the unrest. The article also examines the activities of a militant group operating in the Kinel-Cherkassy sloboda, along with its methods and mechanisms of resistance against government representatives.
