FIELD LIFE: MEMORY AND REFLECTION (BASED ON MATERIALS FROM STUDENT ETHNOGRAPHIC PRACTICES AT OMSU, 1990-2023)
The author focuses on issues of preserving the memory of ethnographic practices and expedition life, and on transforming corresponding narratives into a “experiential” story. The research optics center on the display and transmission of traditions formed within the framework of these practices. The study’s novelty lies in its attention to ethnographic and ethnological practices, which are often overlooked in academic research despite growing interest in fieldwork methodology. The primary sources analyzed are collective documents produced during student fieldwork, examined using diary analysis methods with elements of thematic modeling.
