COMMON TURKISH LITERATURE OR NATIONAL LITERATURE? A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE BALANCE BETWEEN PARADIGMS: THE CASE OF Türkiye, AZERBAIJAN, AND UZBEKISTAN

This study aims to analyze the paradigmatic foundations of literature education in higher education institutions in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. The tension between the concepts of national literature and common Turkic literature is examined within the context of pedagogical practices, curriculum content, and theoretical approaches. Although the three countries share strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, they primarily focus on their respective national literatures, while common literature is mostly treated as introductory content. The article argues that these paradigms can be complementary rather than exclusive and offers solutions through comparative education models, joint curricula, and the development of shared terminology.
