Sons e ruídos de um futuro negro
This article seeks to discuss how the centrality of the gaze in Western culture is manifested in audiovisual media through a hierarchy headed by the image that makes various types of sound a passive complement. The identification of this hierarchy occurs through the visual and sonic discussion presented in the film Space is the Place (1974), where the boundaries between music and noise are broken, as well as a questioning of the centrality of the image in audiovisual narrative.
