Supplemental Material for Unlocking Creativity With Artificial Intelligence (AI): Field and Experimental Evidence on the Goldilocks (Curvilinear) Effect of Human–AI Collaboration

Study 2Our pre-registration plan for Study 2 specifies the use of two trained judges to rate the creativity of all proposals, and two additional coders to code the psychological processes of problem restructuring and knowledge diversity. While these findings show statistically significant patterns, we adopted an advanced approach by leveraging crowdsourced ratings from the public and report findings based on the crowdsourcing method in the manuscript. In addition, we did not pre-register AI-rated creativity but decided to explore this outcome and include this indicator when analyzing our findings. Study 3Our pre-registered analyses include controls for testing the curvilinear effect of human-AI collaboration on creativity. For transparency, we also report results without controls in the manuscript.Additionally, we included a secondary creativity measure (creativity of work), which was not highlighted in our pre-registration, alongside our primary creativity measure for robustness.
