FAKTORI KOJI UTIČU NA MOTIVISANOST STUDENATA ZA AKTIVNO UČEŠĆE U ONLAJN I UŽIVO NASTAVI ENGLESKOG JEZIKA

Motivation, as one of the fundamental factors in the educational pro- cess and teaching practice, is examined in this research through the lens of intrinsic and extrinsic locus of causality, grounded in relevant motivational theories – behavioral, hu- manistic, cognitive, and self-determination theory. The primary objective was to iden- tify and compare the factors influencing students’ motivation to actively engage in online English language lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic and face-to-face lectures in traditional classroom settings post-pandemic. The research was conducted in two phases: the first phase was a qualitative research aimed at identifying factors that influence motiva- tion, while the second phase involved quantitative research (questionnaire-based) to assess the extent to which the factors identified in the first phase affect the motivation of students to actively participate in both online and in-person classes. The findings aim to present, compare, and analyze the key motivators driving active student participation in modified online learning environments and conventional classroom settings, while also exploring the potential future role of online teaching.
