We found five species of the genus occurring in Ceará: D. aegyptius, D. cissoides, D. digitatus, D. macrocalyx and D. ternifoliolus. Three of them occur in protected areas. The species were recorded mainly in the vegetation complex of the coastal zone, semidecidous seasonal forest, steppic savanna and savanna.
