Identification of Psychological Stress in College Students Based on Improved Gated Recurrent Unit
Recently, mental health plays an important area of interest over different areas and has attained significant attention in recent years. Millions of individuals suffer from mental illnesses which frequently go unrecognized, through large proportion being young people, particularly university students. The present generation of college and university students are experiencing escalating levels of stress, both academically and into their families. Thus, this research proposes the Improved Gated Recurrent Unit (IGRU) approach for an identification of psychological stress in college students. The dataset is acquired through questionnaire, which was integrating through Likert scale measurement criteria, that involves college engineering students. This questionnaire is distributed over 127 students; thus, the level of anxiety was identified, moreover, its impacts are determined. The experimental results demonstrates that the proposed IGRU approach attains the maximum accuracy of 98.81 % and F1score of 96.32 % respectively as compared to GRU. The findings illustrates that the proposed IGRU approach exhibits a greater level of proficiency in identifying stress levels.
