Joint Compensation Scheme for Phase Noise and Dispersion in Optical Fiber Communication

Although significant progress has been made in high-order modulation technologies for optical fiber communication systems, the analysis of the joint impairment mechanism of phase noise and dispersion in existing research still has room for optimization. This study proposes a joint compensation scheme that integrates frequency-domain dispersion compensation with pilot-assisted phase estimation. Simulations show that under a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 20 dB, the joint compensation algorithm improves the compensation gain by 5.5 dB, and the segmented weighted phase interpolation algorithm reduces the phase estimation error by 23%. Meanwhile, dynamic pilot interval optimization achieves a balance between compensation performance and spectral efficiency, verifying the feasibility of high-order QAM in strongly impaired environments.
