Automated Software Cost Estimation within a Defined Domain Using Function Point Analysis
This study proposes a method to measure the cost of e-government software, enhancing financial management in Chinese e-government projects. The methodology begins with extracting knowledge from project requirements using content mining. This knowledge is then processed through domain ontology-based reasoning, aligning entities with function point metrics to compute function points accurately. The results are refined using a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, and software costs are estimated through interval analysis with an error model. By combining data mining with knowledge reasoning, this approach minimizes subjective bias, ensuring objective and scientific cost estimations for e-government software projects.
