Contribuições das práticas integrativas e complementares na qualidade devida de mulheres de Caetanópolis-MG
Introduction: The Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICs) introduced in SUS in 2006 are based on opposition to biomedicine actions and corroborate the expansion of health care. Among the practices offered by PICs is the Lian Gong gymnastics offered as an outpatient service by Dr. Pacifico Mascarenhas Hospital for SUS users from the city of Caetanópolis-MG. Objective: This research aims to analyze the opinion of 34 women with 61 to 70 years, users of this service, about the contributions of PICs to their quality of life and health promotion. Methods: The Whoqolbref survey instrument was used to evaluate five domains of quality of life. Together, a focus group was held with 13 participants. Results: The results of the Whoqolbref showed satisfactory quality of life scores (72.4%). In the focus group, the results of the content analysis showed that gymnastics brought benefits to them from the attenuation of body pain, decreased stress and anxiety. In addition, the self-care provided in gymnastics is significant, because the participants report taking little care of themselves. Final considerations: It can be seen that the use of PICS alliedto biomedical practices suggest a greater proximity and (re)knowledge of oneself, besides enabling health care autonomously.
