El Desarrollo Integral de los Estudiantes a través de la Satisfacción De las Necesidades Psicológicas Básicas: Un Estudio para Promover Habilidades Blandas en la Educación
The present study arises from the growing need to strengthen the development of soft skills in the educational field and in the integral formation of individuals, since these socio-emotional competences are essential to satisfy the three basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, directly influencing students’ motivation, well-being, and integration into the school environment. The research was carried out with a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design, applying measurement instruments before and after an educational intervention aimed at fostering skills such as assertive communication, collaborative work, resilience, and self-management. The sample consisted of upper secondary education students who participated in activities designed to strengthen these competences, with their perceptions of basic psychological needs subsequently evaluated. The results show a significant improvement in self- perceived autonomy and competence, as well as in the quality of interpersonal relationships, confirming that the systematic integration of these skills into the school curriculum contributes to the integral development of young people and to their ability to face personal, academic, social and professional challenges of the 21st century.
