Development of Social Involvement and Active Patriotism of Students in the Context of the Project “Conversations about the Important”: Theory and Methodology of the Research

Introduction. The scientific problem of the article is to determine what are the methodological and theoretical approaches to the study of the process of implementing the project “Conversations about the Important” as a tool for social involvement and active patriotism of students. The purpose of the article is to identify and scientifically substantiate the methodological and theoretical approaches to organizing and studying the process of developing social involvement and active patriotism of students in an educational organization within the framework of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”. Methodology. The substantiation of the methodological and theoretical approaches to the study of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important” was carried out on the basis of: generalization of the definitions of the concepts “social involvement”, “active patriotism” (theoretical component of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”); identification of relevant methodological approaches to the study (methodological component of the implementation and prospects of the project “Conversations about the Important”); analysis of the topics of “Conversations about the Important” and methodological materials for them (substantive and organizational component of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”); generalization of the existing experience of organizing and conducting “Conversations about the Important” as a tool for social involvement and active patriotism. Theoretical methods of scientific research were used: analysis of studies on the problem, generalization, abstraction. The results of the survey on the existing experience of organizing and conducting “Conversations about the Important” as a tool for social involvement and active patriotism are summarized. Results. The authors of the article: compared the definitions of the concepts of “social involvement” and “active patriotism” in the context of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”, which can serve as a tool for their development; substantiated the importance of the systemic, synergistic, cultural, human-centered and project approaches in the methodology of studying the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”; summarized the possibilities of the topics of “Conversations about the Important” and methodological materials to them from the position of developing social involvement and active patriotism, including an appeal to authentic sources, events, personalities; stimulation, support of initiatives and project solutions of students; collection of information that has practical significance for application; definition of their role in promoting this information, education based on it; identified examples of positive practices and prospects for research on the impact of the project “Conversations about the Important” on the development of social involvement and active patriotism. Conclusions. The authors of the article compared the definitions of the concepts of “social involvement” and “active patriotism” in the context of the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”, which can serve as a tool for their development; substantiated the importance of systemic, synergistic, and cultural studies in the methodology of research into the implementation of the project “Conversations about the Important”; summarized the capabilities of the topics of “Conversations about the Important” and methodological materials to them from the standpoint of developing social involvement and active patriotism, including an appeal to authentic sources, events, personalities; stimulation, support of initiatives and project solutions of students; collection of information that has practical significance for application; definition of their role in promoting this information and education based on it; identified examples of positive practices and prospects for research into the impact of the project “Conversations about the Important” on the development of social involvement and active patriotism.
