A Bibliometric Analysis in the Field of Artificial Intelligence Security in the United States — Data Visualization of Web of Science Using Citespace

This study focused on artificial intelligence (AI) security in the United States (US) and used visual research methods to study progress in the field. CiteSpace 6.4.R1 software was used to analyze the relevant literature in the Web of Science (WOS) database from 2013 to 2023. The security problems triggered by AI technology were explored, providing support for the development of global AI and the optimization of security regulations, and promoting international cooperation. Words such as “AI” have become high-frequency terms, covering risks in multiple fields and technology trends, which can impact national security and interdisciplinary exploration. Moreover, research hotspots have shifted to core fields, such as national defense. The research findings showed that the US has achieved remarkable results in promoting the integration of AI and national security. The US, China, and the European Union each have their own advantages in scientific research, although small- and medium-sized countries face difficulties. It is recommended that all countries strengthen their top-level designs and optimize their talent cultivation ecosystems.
