<ns3:p>The article offers a comparative analysis of novels published at the beginning of the ninetiesas works of Helena Mniszkówna, although she did not write them: Smak miłości (The taste of love)by an unknown author, Ordynatówna (The daughter of the lord of the manor), probably by StefaniaBugajska, and the continuation of the novel Trędowata (The leper) by Witold Jabłoński. The factorsenabling such publications are fi rst described, including the liberalisation and commercialisationof the Polish literary market after the fall of the communist government and the general popularityof Mniszkówna’s novels (especially Trędowata).
