Building Sustainable Support Systems in Community-Based Fundraising
Community-based fundraising is not just a set of techniques but a philosophy rooted in trust, participation, and collective ownership. This article synthesizes strategies from across the fundraising spectrum—community events, peer-to-peer initiatives, digital campaigns, local business partnerships, and volunteer-driven models—to provide a roadmap for building durable support systems. It highlights transparency, inclusivity, and adaptability as pillars of long-term sustainability, while stressing the role of digital platforms and hybrid online–offline approaches in expanding reach. Evaluation frameworks and feedback loops are emphasized as tools for continuous learning and legitimacy. Drawing on global case studies and academic insights, the article concludes that sustainable support systems arise when non-profits balance enduring principles with evolving practices, cultivating resilient networks of solidarity that transform short-term fundraising into long-term community empowerment.
