Efectividad y seguridad de sugammadex y neostigmina en cirugía laparoscópica en niños
Introduction: Recent advances in anesthetic and surgical techniques, as well as in the refinement of equipment, have led to an increase in laparoscopic surgery in children of all ages, reporting great benefits already known[],[]. Postoperative residual paralysis is present in children with a variable incidence of up to 28.1%[], therefore there is greater postoperative morbidity. Objectives: To compare certainty and effectiveness of sugammadex and neostigmine for the reversal of neuromuscular blockade in laparoscopic surgery. Material and Methods: Prospective, randomized, single-blind clinical trial in children from 1 month to 17 years of age. Statistical analysis was performed with Student’s t test for the efficacy variable and Pearson’s Chi square for the safety variable to compare differences between groups, the level of significance was valued with p less than 0.05. Results: A total of 63 patients, 31 for the sugammdex group (group A) and 32 for the neostigmine group (group B), for the efficacy variable, an average reversion time to TOF 90 of 2.06 minutes was found for sugammadex and 4.34 for neostigmine. minutes. For the side effects result, a percentage of 3.2% was found for sugammadex and 23.8% for the neostigmine group, the most frequent being bradycardia. For the variable adverse effects, transient ventricular tachycardia with hemodynamic stability occurred in the sugammadex group with 1.6%. Conclusions: Sugammadex is effective and safe for the reversal of the neuromuscular relaxant rocuronium in laparoscopic surgery in children.
