PROGRAMA ALFABETIZA-MT – FORMAÇÃO CONTINUADA DE PROFESSORES EM CÁCERES-MT:

This study analyzes the implementation of the Alfabetiza MT Program in the municipality of Cáceres-MT, focusing on the continuing education of literacy teachers and its impact on student learning. The research adopts a descriptive and exploratory approach, integrating quantitative data on educational indicators, such as reading fluency and literacy rates, with qualitative data obtained through a questionnaire applied to participating teachers. It is observed that, although the program has contributed to significant advances at the state level, raising Mato Grosso’s literacy ranking from 20th to 9th place between 2021 and 2024, municipal results show heterogeneity, indicating local challenges in implementation. Critical analysis reveals that teachers’ perceptions are essential to understand the effectiveness of continuing education and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Thus, the study contributes to the debate on educational public policies, highlighting the importance of articulating official indicators, pedagogical practices, and feedback from education professionals to promote literacy quality.
