HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN DENGAN HASIL PCR HPV DNA DI LABORATORIUM MEDIS CITO SEMARANG

This study is motivated by the high incidence of cervical cancer globally, which is largely caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection. Given that early detection through HPV DNA PCR testing is an important standard, understanding associated risk factors is crucial. However, the relationship between patient characteristics and HPV test results often varies. Therefore, this study focuses on analyzing the relationship between patient characteristics including age, contraceptive use, parity, vaginal complaints, and gynecological conditions with HPV DNA PCR results at the Cito Medical Laboratory in Semarang. This study used a cross-sectional design with a quantitative descriptive approach to 66 samples of patient medical records. Data that were not normally distributed were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed no statistically significant relationship between age (p=0.615), contraceptive use (p=0.195), parity (p=0.32), and vaginal complaints (p=0.514) with HPV DNA PCR results. However, a significant positive relationship was found between gynecological conditions and HPV DNA PCR results (p=0.021). It was concluded that among the various characteristics tested, gynecological conditions were the only factor that had a significant association with positive HPV DNA PCR results in this study population.
