Skin oncology
A man in his 30s presented with a single asymptomatic, nonhealing ulcer on the palmar aspect of his left hand for 4 years. Examination revealed an ulcer on the left palm with undermined edges and granulation tissue forming the floor, with seropurulent discharge but no other cutaneous or systemic findings. Histopathology revealed a partially ulcerated epidermis. The dermis showed an ill-defined tumour arranged in a single-file pattern and insinuating through the thick dermal collagen fibrils. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that the tumour cells were positive for both pan-cytokeratin and vimentin.
