Analysis of Data-Driven Digital Twins in Manufacturing: Development, Model Reuse and Update
In manufacturing, development approaches, model reuse and update process are important research subjects for data-driven simulation models and Digital Twins (DTs). As a result, an analysis of certain data-driven models and DTs is conducted to assess these topics. The main conclusions of the analysis are: first, the development approaches lack sufficient detail regarding the development of the simulation models. Second, the lack of detail and the unavailability of code make difficult the model reuse. And third, the information regarding the update process of the simulation model within a DT is either limited or absent.
