Scheduling Service Oriented Manufacturing Systems
Recent advancements in digital transformation and collaborative economic models have improved manufacturing competitiveness and resilience while introducing computational complexities in the coordination and scheduling of service-oriented production environments, where multiple customer orders (i.e., agents) compete for shared resources. This study addresses this Multi-Agent Scheduling (MAS) problem, focusing on multi-facility settings where agents handle distinct, non-intersecting orders. A new mixed-integer and constraint programming models are proposed, incorporating practical concerns; changeovers, facility unavailability, and transportation time between facilities and the order consolidation center. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of both approaches in addressing challenges within multi-agent service-oriented manufacturing systems.
