A framework for evaluating proactive and reactive supply chain resilience measures using a combination of factorial and discrete choice analysis

The fast-developing global economy and increasingly occurring crises require multidisciplinary approaches to supply chain resilience. Previous research on supply chain resilience has mainly focused on using either business or economics methods with only fragmented efforts of combining both. Through a combined factorial and discrete choice analysis, this study proposes a framework to evaluate proactive and reactive supply chain resilience measures and contributes to the knowledge of supply chain decision-making. In particular, we propose principles of a method to evaluate the overall attractiveness of resilience portfolios that include their costs and benefits. We provide some insights into the trade-offs supply chain managers might have to resolve between the different resilience measures, their benefits, and costs from a multi-stakeholder perspective.
