Impacto na avaliação térmica de edifícios após a revisão dos requisitos da NBR 15575

The recent revision of the Performance Standard for residential buildings, ABNT NBR 15575, which took place in 2021, introduced new performance indicators for thermal evaluation. This topic has been widely debated by researchers in the field. The overall objective of this study is to compare the requirements of the normative procedures of the 2013 and 2021 versions of NBR 15575 in order to assess the impact that the update had on the thermal performance of buildings. To achieve this, the study is conducted through a case study that examines the influence of the differences between the simplified, computational simulation, and informative methods in a Social Housing (SH) unit. The results indicated unsatisfactory thermal performance for the SH in question located in Pelotas/RS. The simplified method did not classify the building, requiring computational simulation in both versions of NBR 15575. For the computational simulation procedure, the evaluation based on the 2013 standard achieved the minimum level of thermal performance, but the 2021 version diagnosed thermal inadequacy on the ground floor, preventing classification. The informative method did not classify the building under the 2013 version of the standard. The research contributed to identifying the main differences in the normative procedures and highlighting which improvements should be included in a future revision of the standard.
