Abstract

Nature, environment and biodiversity are not a simulation but a concretely graspable reality. Considering that the perceptions of "reality" of the generations after the 2000s have changed due to technological possibilities, it is an inevitable necessity for students to experience "nature as a concrete and real thing" in the educational processes in order to create concrete conditions for sustainability. At this point, it is known that many contemporary nature-based education and training methods have been proposed and implemented. Village Institutes are an important experience unique to our country that uses scientific methods and "learning by doing" in natural environments. This institutional experience offers significant potential for creating concrete conditions for a sustainable future. In this study, the environmental ethics potential of the village institute experience in relation to a sustainable future will be discussed and in this context, the possibilities of the Akpınar Village Institute library (Samsun/Lâdik) will be examined. In the study, after the books that are important in terms of environmental ethics are identified in the library, some of them will be content analyzed. The study is based on qualitative research method and will be carried out with document analysis technique. The study is important in terms of benefiting from the unique experiences in our country in developing alternative sustainable education methods.
