The people behind the papers – Tyler Square and Zoe Chen
Ectodysplasin (Eda), a member of the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of proteins, regulates proper dental development in vertebrates. In their study, Tyler Square and colleagues show that Eda drives latent tooth-forming competency in fish in a spatiotemporally regulated manner during development. To know more about their work, we spoke to the first author, Zoe Chen, and the corresponding author, Tyler Square, Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, USA.
