Was, wie und für wen wollen wir in Zukunft (noch) edieren?

Abstract The article discusses challenges that philosophical editions ought to deal with in times of the so called ‘digital transformation’. Not only the technical circumstances, but also business models, funding structures and relevant aspects of the ‘practice’ of text use are changing more drastically than is reflected in the actual reality of editions (i. e. edition projects in Germany). The author attempts to react to this by means of a combination of diagnostic reflections – in essay form. This is combined with a series of theses. The chosen perspective is that of the users of editions, i. e. those who want to continue to conduct historical-hermeneutical research in the future, using all conceivably suitable means.
