The Impact of Modified Stennert’s Infusion Therapy in Treatment of Bell’s Palsy – A Case Series
Bell’s palsy, sometimes referred to as “acute facial palsy of unknown cause,” is a frequent cranial neuropathy typically affecting one side and causes abrupt paresis. It can have a severe effect on patients and their families, leading to both physical and psychological issues. Therefore, the key to effective therapy is an early diagnosis and a prompt cause determination. Through this case series, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the modified Stennert’s protocol in managing the patients of Bell’s palsy by tapering dosages of hydrocortisone, pentoxifylline, and low-molecular-weight dextran in combination treatment. We would like to address five cases of patients who presented to the Otorhinolaryngology department of our institution diagnosed with a case of lower motor neuron palsy.
