Study and Analysis on a Solar PV-integrated Power Electronics Converter System for EV Battery charging

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) demands sustainable and efficient charging solutions to reduce dependency on conventional grid power. This paper explores the development, simulation, and enhancement of a Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) integrated Power electronics converter system for EV battery charging. The proposed system aims to maximize power extraction from the PV array, ensure stable battery charging voltage, and enhance charging competence through an effective power regulation technique. Different modes of battery charging operations, namely constant current and constant voltage, are simulated and studied considering different levels of state of charge (SoC). System performance is validated with extensive simulation-based study and results are presented.
