Design and Development of Capacitive Pressure Sensor for Electronic Skin

Flexible pressure sensors have become essential for applications such as health monitoring, soft robotics, etc. This project mainly focuses on the designing and developing a capacitive pressure sensor which has a flexible dielectric layer like PDMS and can be used for Electronic skin. The capacitance was measured by varying pressure to check the sensitivity of the devices. Further, the sensitivity was optimized by making devices with dielectric layer composed of stacking of PDMS and boron nitride layers and, a composite of PDMS and boron nitride nanosheets. The devices have shown responses at lower frequencies. In particular, the highest sensitivity was observed at 0.21 Hz.
