Animal Detection and Alert System for Road Safety
Human-wildlife conflicts have intensified with the rapid expansion of road infrastructure through natural habitats. This paper introduces an "Animal Detection and Alert System" leveraging Machine Learning and Internet of Things technologies to mitigate these conflicts. The system employs a YOLOv8-based detection model integrated with hardware components such as cameras, microprocessors, and motorized mounts to provide real-time monitoring and alerts. Testing demonstrates high detection accuracy, efficient alert transmission, and scalable deployment potential. The results underscore the system's role in promoting road safety and wildlife conservation.
