Dual-Working-Modes-Based Wide Voltage-Gain Range DC–DC Converter With Low Input Current Ripple for Fuel Cell Vehicles
A dual-working-modes-based common grounded wide voltage-gain range DC-DC converter with low input current ripple is proposed in this paper. On the input voltage side, two inductors are connected in parallel with phase-shift control to reduce input current ripple and primary inductor current. When charging inductor, construct a higher charging voltage to increase the voltage gain. On the output voltage side, inductor and capacitor are discharged in series to further increase the voltage gain and reduce voltage stress of power semiconductors. Aiming at the problem of the interval conversion of the input current ripple rate in different duty cycle ranges caused by the inconsistent inductor currents, this paper explores the inductor combination optimization method to minimize the input current ripple rate. Analyses are done on the operating principle, characteristics, parameters design and comparison with other converters. In order to confirm the accuracy of theoretical analysis, a 400W prototype is developed.
